About Olena

Olena Pkhaladze is a Registered Psychotherapist (CRPO) with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. She is an EMDRIA-trained EMDR therapist, hypnotherapist, and crisis counsellor with clinical specialization in trauma, crisis intervention, and group therapy.

She is the founder of the Olena Pkhaladze Psychotherapy Centre in Newmarket, Ontario, where her practice focuses on trauma-informed care, evidence-based interventions, and integrative approaches that include EMDR, CBT, mindfulness, and somatic practices. In addition to her clinical work, she serves as Vice President of the Canadian United Humanitarian Foundation (CUHF), contributing to international humanitarian and mental health initiatives.

At Portside, Olena teaches Trauma and Crisis and Group Therapy, combining theoretical foundations with applied clinical skills. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes reflective practice, cultural sensitivity, and resilience, preparing future therapists to meet the complex needs of diverse client populations.

Her professional mission bridges psychotherapy, education, and humanitarian service, with a focus on advancing trauma-informed approaches in both individual and group contexts.
