About Vera

Vera comes from an interdisciplinary background, having been trained in both counselling psychology and clinical pharmacy. From over a decade of her practice in hospital Mental Health, Oncology and Long Term settings, Vera has gained expertise in working with patients experiencing mental distress. She also brings with her a career-long teaching experience.

Vera became passionate about teaching upon completion of her graduate studies in Clinical Pharmacy, and had taught Clinical Pharmacy to undergrad pharmacy students for two years. Throughout Vera’s two decades of work in Long Term Care and hospital settings, she enjoyed teaching and training pharmacy students and nursing teams. She is a passionate Preceptor and mentor to students and new employees at a hospital Psychiatric Care unit and Pharmacy.

Throughout her practice, Vera has developed a deep appreciation of the mind-body connection. Having received comprehensive training in a wide spectrum of therapeutic areas, modalities and approaches, Vera offers a broad and comprehensive view on matters of mental and physical wellbeing.

Vera’s current work with couples and families is based on IFS, the Bowenian approach to family systems, and greatly on EFT. She is well-versed in working with individuals in their fertility journey.

Vera’s diverse personal experience enriches and strengthens her insight as a therapist. She has lived through two immigrations, a happy married life and a divorce, as a housewife and as a busy professional, as a coparent and as a single parent. She has been exposed to various cultures and religions, and gained close understanding of the impact of social circumstances on mental and physical health of individuals and families.

Vera is a mother of grownup twins and their little sibling. Cats, dogs and other pets never leave her house. She loves snowboarding, paddle boats, biking, swimming and hiking. Vera is fascinated by nature and its culmination in the endlessly beautiful, mysterious and powerful human mind.
