A Creative Therapeutic Program for Young Children
A fun and supportive space for children to explore feelings, develop emotional skills, build friendships and strengthen confidence through art, storytelling, movement and connection.
Shine Bright is a small-group therapeutic program designed to support young children as they develop emotional awareness, self-expression, social skills and confidence.
Through expressive arts, storytelling, movement, imaginative play and relational activities, children are provided with opportunities to explore their feelings, practice healthy ways of communicating, develop emotional regulation skills and experience positive connection with others.
Children will have opportunities to:
- Explore feelings through art and creative expression
- Develop age-appropriate emotional awareness
- Practice identifying and communicating emotions
- Explore healthy coping and self-regulation strategies
- Build confidence and a positive sense of self
- Develop communication and social skills
- Practice cooperation, sharing and friendship skills
- Explore storytelling and imaginative play
- Develop positive relational experiences
- Express themselves in a safe and supportive environment
The program is guided by expressive arts, child development, emotional regulation and relational approaches. Activities are adapted to the developmental needs of the children participating in the group.
Shine Bright is facilitated through The Counselling House and is designed to provide children with a supportive therapeutic environment where creativity becomes a pathway for communication, connection and emotional growth.
FACILITATION
The program is facilitated by qualified mental health professionals through The Counselling House, with activities designed to support children’s emotional and relational development.
PLEASE NOTE
Shine Bright is a therapeutic children’s program. Parents and caregivers will be provided with information about the nature and scope of the program at registration. Individual therapeutic needs that fall outside the scope of the group may require an individual assessment or counselling referral.
